Clay Sanskrit Library

This is a recent set of hardbacks book modelled upon the Loeb Classic Library.

Introduction

Essentially this sets include the two Epics (Mahabharata and Ramayana) - presumably became definitive around the beginning of the Common Era, and this "Second" flowering of Sanskrit literature lasted for more than a millenium

The catalog:

The following are in common with Basham's list in the other blog post:

Amaru, Bhartrhari, Bilhana - Love Lyrics

Asvaghosa - two works (Buddhacarita, Saundarananda)

Kalidasa - Shakuntala, Kumarasambhava, Raghuvamsa, Vikramorvasiya, Malavika and Agnimitra, Meghaduta

Jayadeva - Gita Govinda

Dandin - Dasakumaracarita

Bana - Kadambari, Harsacarita

Bhatti - Bhattikavya

Bhavabhuti - Malati and Madhava, Uttararamacarita

Bhasa - (though the work selected in Clay is Urubhanga)

Magha - Sisupalavadha

Ramayana

Visakhadatta - Mudraraksasa

Pancatantra

Sudraka - Mrcchakatika

Somadeva - Ocean of Story

Harsa - Ratnavali, Priyadarsika, Nagananda

Mahabharata

It seems like the Clay library includes more Buddhist and Jaina work, while Basham's list is mostly secular works.
